British Horse Artillery (RHA) is a British military unit, the roots of which date back to 1793. At present, the unit consists of three artillery regiments (1 RHA, 3 RHA and 7 RHA), as well as a ceremonial unit (King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery). British horse artillery took an active part in the wars with revolutionary France (1792-1799) and in the Napoleonic wars (1799-1815). She also fought in many armed conflicts of the 19th century, such as the Crimean War (1853-1856) or the Second Boer War (1899-1902). It is also not surprising that the Royal Horse Artillery took part in World War I. At the time of its outbreak, regular RHA units had 25 batteries, of which as many as 11 were in service in India. Their basic armament was a quick-firing cannon The 76.2mm Ordnance QF 13-pounder entered service in 1904. At the beginning of World War I, it was assumed that RHA units fighting on the emerging Western Front would support the British cavalry, but the realities of the battlefields quickly revised these assumptions, and some batteries The Royal Horse Artillery was re-armed with 84mm 18-pounder cannons (British infantry main support gun) and 4.5 inch howitzers. Interestingly, those RHA batteries that were later directed to the Middle East retained their guns Ordnance QF 13-pounder cal. 76.2 mm.
