The Vultee V-1 was an American-made transport and passenger aircraft from the interwar period in an all-metal low wing structure. The drive was provided - in the basic version - by a single Wright Cyclone R-1820-F2 engine with a power of 735 HP. The first flight of this machine took place in 1933. In the years 1933-1936 serial production was carried out, which led to the creation of about 20-25 aircraft of this type.

The Vultee V-1 was developed as a grassroots initiative by the Vultee Aircraft Corporation with financial support from Errett Cord. The new machine was a light medium-range airliner, capable of carrying 6-8 passengers. The emphasis is on the best possible performance - especially top speed. American Airlines was the first civilian buyer of Vultee V-1 aircraft. In the course of serial production, four main development variants were created: V-1A (basic production series), V-1AD (version with a higher standard of the passenger compartment), V-1AD Special (version powered by modernized Wright Cyclone R-1820 engines) and V-1AS (seaplane, sold to the USSR). It is worth noting that during the course of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) a dozen or so Vultee V-1 planes, obtained from various sources, flew as bombers in the colors of the aviation of the Republican forces.
