TWM AFVs Essentials is far more than a simple compilation—it's a carefully curated collection of the finest content from The Weathering Magazine, handpicked by Mig Jiménez and focused entirely on military vehicles. This all-in-one guide offers essential chapters on painting and weathering, featuring clear, step-by-step instructions for techniques honed over years of modeling experience.
From priming and base coating to camouflage, chipping, filters, washes, streaking, dust, dirt, rust, mud, and realistic oil and fuel stains—every technique is explained in detail and paired with real-world reference photos that show exactly how these effects appear on actual vehicles.
The book also includes three complete build articles that demonstrate how to apply these techniques cohesively and artistically across different armored vehicles. These case studies help bring the methods to life, offering practical insight into integrating effects for maximum realism.
A special section is dedicated to the innovative ATOM paints, a new development in the modeling world that offers improved realism and user-friendly application. To make the transition easier, a conversion chart is provided to match ATOM colors with classic AMMO acrylics.
More than just a tribute to The Weathering Magazine, TWM AFVs Essentials is a modern, updated resource created to inspire and support modelers of all skill levels—from experienced hobbyists to those just starting out. It also stands as a milestone in Mig Jiménez’s legacy, bringing together years of knowledge and artistry in one essential volume.
