British fighter plane, the Sopwith 7F1 Snipe biplane from the First World War. The construction of the first prototypes began in October 1917, as a private initiative of the Sopwith factory. The first planes were delivered to the front in August 1918. The machine was characterized by very good maneuverability, a great field of view from the cabin and was much easier to pilot than its predecessor - the Sopwith Camel. Thanks to the use of a more powerful engine (Bentley BR.2 with 234HP) it was also faster and had a better rate of climb than its "little brother". Throughout the war, 2,092 units were produced. After the war, Sopwith 7F1 Snipe planes served in Great Britain and Canada until 1923. Technical data: Top speed: 195 km / h; climb speed 6.3 m / s, maximum ceiling 5940 m, armament: two 7.7 mm Vickers machine guns, firing through a propeller.
