The IMAM Ro.37 is an Italian single-engine reconnaissance and military collaboration aircraft manufactured by Industrie Meccaniche a Aeronautuiche Meridionali, headquartered in Naples. The flight of the prototype took place in November 1933, and in June of the following year mass production started. The Ro.37 was characterized by a low maximum speed and the ability to operate from field airfields, and besides, it was relatively reliable. It was created in two main versions: Ro.37 and Ro.37bis. The first was powered by a Fiat A.30 RA engine, and the second already had a Piaggio P.IX RC engine with more power. Besides, both versions had no significant external differences. Aircraft of this type took an active part in the Italian-Abyssinian conflict (1935-1936) and the Spanish civil war in the nationalist aviation. They fought at the beginning of World War II against Greece and in the Balkan campaign in 1941. From 1942, however, they were replaced by Ca.311.
