Heller 80717 Renault R5 Turbo

The Renault 5 (other names: Renault R5, Super 5 or Supercinq) is a French passenger car that was first presented to the public in 1972. Its serial production started in the same year and lasted until 1996 - more than 5.5 million copies of this vehicle were produced during it. Production took place in several cities, but the most important plants producing this model were in Douai, Dieppe and Flins-sur-Seine in France.

Renault 5 was developed and put into production as a kind of complement to the 4L model in the company's offer, but it is worth remembering that the production of both models was carried out simultaneously for several years. The R5 model took a lot of mechanical elements from the 4L and was based on many identical design solutions. Both models, however, completely differed in design, which in the case of the R5 was much more - for those times - avant-garde and earned it the title of a cult car in France. Renault 5 was also appreciated for its very spacious interior for its class of car, low aerodynamic resistance and good traction. The car was offered primarily as a 3- or 5-door hatchback. A wide range of engines with a capacity of 0.8 to 1.4 liters served as the drive. It was replaced in the group's offer by the Clio model.
