Honda City is a Japanese passenger car with the so-called class of city cars and the lower-middle class (compact car), which was first presented to the public in 1981. Its serial production started in the same year and is still going on. During it, the model was manufactured in several cities around the world, including: Guangzhou in the PRC or Greater Noida City in India. Until now, the car has lived to see its six generations.

The City model did not have a direct predecessor in the Honda Motor Company offer, and was developed by this company as a complement to the Civic model and to enter the segment of A-class cars. good driving and travel comfort for this class of vehicles, and it was also offered in the 2-door convertible version. However, since the appearance of the third generation in 1996, Honda decided to reposition the City model - from the A segment to the lower-middle class, which resulted in, among others: changing the body type from a hatchback to a sedan, introducing engines with a larger displacement (from 1.3 up to 1.5 liters) and changes to the design of the vehicle. The last, sixth generation of the City model was presented in 2013.
