KARAYA E7203 DB-605 engine – resin + PE

The Daimler-Benz DB 605 was a German WWII aero engine manufactured by Daimler-Benz AG. It was first tested in 1940. The engine - in the DB 605 AM version - weighed 756 kilograms with a displacement of 35.7 liters. It is estimated that in the period 1942-1945 approximately 42,400 examples of this aircraft engine were built.

The Daimler-Benz DB 605 was a 12 cylinder V12 inverted, liquid cooled V12 engine. The engine was developed on the basis of the very successful DB 601 engine. Compared to its predecessor, however, it used a much more powerful turbocharger, it was also able to work at higher revolutions, and its weight and displacement were increased. The diameters of the cylinders were also increased. These changes led to an increase in the maximum, and from the moment it entered series production, the Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine was refined, which resulted in a further increase in power. For example, in the DB 605 A version it was 1475 hp, in the DB 605 DB version it reached 1800-1850 hp, and in the DB 605 DC model it reached 2000 hp. The Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine was used as a power unit for several German aircraft during the Second World War. First of all, it powered machines such as: Messerschmitt Me-109 in G and K versions, Me-110 G and Me-210 fighter. It is worth adding that this type of engine was also used in Italian designs (eg Fiat G.55) or the Swedish Saab J-21.
