The Mitsubishi Colt (also known as Mirage) is a Japanese compact car that was first presented to the public in 1978 at the Geneva Motor Show. Its serial production started in the same year and continued until 2013. The car was powered by a relatively wide range of gasoline and diesel engines - depending on the version - with a capacity of 1.2 to 1.8 liters. The car was produced in several cities around the world, but the main production facilities were in the city of Okazaki, Japan.

The Colt model was developed and put into mass production by the Mitsubishi Motors automotive concern in order to replace the existing Colt 1100 and Colt 1200 models. Compared to its predecessors, the new model (despite the same name) differed in many elements. First of all, it had a completely different styling, it was also offered mainly with a hatchback body and a changed range of available engines. From 1984 to 2003 it was seen as a "slimmed down" and compact version of the Lancer. The last generation of the Colt model was produced in the years 2004-2012. The car was known for its high reliability, very good build quality and an overall good price-quality ratio.
